Legato was independently tested by HearAdvisor, the same lab that benchmarks the world’s leading hearing aids. Here’s how we ranked.

HearAdvisor is an independent test lab that developed a comprehensive test to benchmark hearing devices.

They test the performance of each device across 5 dimensions:
(1) intelligibility of speech in quiet;
(2) intelligibility of speech in noise;
(3) feedback handling;
(4) self-voice handling; and
(5) music streaming quality.

These performance scores are weighted and combined to provide a single overall “SoundScore” for the device. The HearAdvisor SoundScore is a measurement of the overall performance of a hearing device.

Questions

FAQs

Can Legato Frames record video or audio of my conversations?

No. Unlike other smart eyewear, Legato Frames have no cameras and cannot record your conversations. Your privacy, and the privacy of others around you, remains protected with Legato.

How long does the battery last?

Your Legato Frames last for 10+ hours of continuous hearing assistance.

When Legato Frames are muted (which can be done with an on-device mute button), they consume minimal battery and last for more than 30 hours. Muting your Legato Frames when you don't need hearing assistance can significantly extend daily battery life beyond 10 hours.

How do I recharge the Legato Frames?

Your Legato Frames come with a wireless charging pad. Simply place the Frames on the charging pad to recharge them. A full charge takes about 2 hours, and a 30-minute quick charge provides roughly 2 hours of additional use.

How does the hearing technology work?

Your Legato Frames use our SpeechSense AI hearing-processing technology. SpeechSense AI receives audio from microphones embedded in your Frames that pick up sound from where you're looking. It processes that audio through a neural network processor that recognizes speech and rejects noise. It then adjusts the level of amplification at various frequencies to compensate for hearing loss. Finally, your Frames output the amplified speech through an open-ear, air-conduction audio system that plays privately to you, so others around you cannot hear the audio coming from your Frames.

Since Legato Frames are an open-ear system, they do not reduce or alter the sounds you hear. Rather, they separate and amplify the speech around you, making conversations much easier to hear in both quiet and loud settings.

Are Legato Frames Bluetooth compatible?

Yes. Your Legato Frames include Bluetooth LE, which enables you to control the Frames through a free Legato companion app available on iOS and Android. You can also stream music, podcasts, and other audio and take phone calls through your Legato Frames.

Can I use my prescription lenses with Legato Frames?

Yes. Legato Frames are compatible with virtually all lens prescriptions. During the checkout process, you can upload your lens prescription or enter it manually. Legato Frames can also be fitted with plain, non-corrective lenses or reading lenses.

Why does Legato offer Progressive Reader lenses instead of regular (non-progressive) readers?

Traditional reading lenses are used only when reading text, so they are taken on and off throughout the day. We've found that customers often want their hearing assistance available even when they don't need their readers. Therefore, we offer a premium, non-prescription Progressive Reader lens. These lenses transition from a plain (non-corrective) area for distance viewing to a reading area toward the bottom. This enables customers who are accustomed to wearing reading glasses to use their Legato Frames in many more situations.

What warranty coverage is included?

Every pair of Legato Frames includes a one-year limited warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship.

You can also add Legato Care Extended Protection within 45 days of purchase. Legato Care extends your warranty from one year to three years and adds protection against accidental breakage, loss, theft, and damage beyond repair.
